**EUGENE, Ore.** — Oregon is still working to establish its identity.

For the second consecutive week, the No. 7 Ducks faced challenges but ultimately secured a win. Atticus Sappington nailed a 25-yard field goal as time expired, lifting Oregon to a 37-34 victory over a determined Boise State on Saturday night.

Dillon Gabriel threw for 243 yards and two touchdowns for the Ducks (2-0), who were trailing the Broncos (1-1) with 10 minutes left in the game.

Last week, Oregon had another closer-than-expected win, defeating Idaho 24-14.

“As a team finding our identity, you can see us becoming more connected as the weeks progress, both in practice and games,” Gabriel said. "Going through adversity, we’ve found ways to win.”

Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty ran for 192 yards and three touchdowns. Despite being 18 1/2-point underdogs, the Broncos nearly pulled off an upset. Jeanty’s 8-yard touchdown run put Boise State ahead 34-27 early in the fourth quarter, but Oregon quickly responded with Noah Whittington's 99-yard kickoff return, which Jayden Limar recovered in the end zone to tie the game 16 seconds later.

Despite their struggles, Oregon extended its nonconference home winning streak to 34 games, the longest active streak in the nation.

“I feel relieved because of the result,” Oregon coach Dan Lanning said. “But we need to focus on the process. There are a lot of areas where we can improve, and we’ll attack those issues.”

Boise State took an early lead with Jonah Dalmas' first-quarter field goal. Oregon's offense initially sputtered, but Gabriel connected with Evan Stewart on a 67-yard pass and then scored on a keeper.

Jeanty’s 3-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter put the Broncos back in the lead, but Gabriel responded with a 34-yard touchdown pass to Stewart, giving Oregon a 14-10 advantage.

Boise State reclaimed the lead with Maddux Madsen's 17-yard touchdown pass to Cameron Camper and extended it with a 20-yard field goal, going into halftime up 20-14.
